
Council tax bombshell
Croydon's Conservative Mayor and 33 councillors have voted for the biggest Council Tax rise in Britain - a massive 15% increase.
John has campaigned and succeeded on many local transport and other issues. As a qualified architect, he worked on housing and with planners. Fighting over-development, he wants the right housing in the right places. His small business employed six staff in Purley.
In 1997 he was given an MBE by the Queen for a vast amount of voluntary work. More recently in the pandemic, he volunteered admin at Surrey Physio and at a main Croydon vaccination centre.
John has lived locally for over 60 years. He is married with two grown-up daughters.
