Gill Hickson was born in Croydon and has lived in Coulsdon for over 30 years.
Gill worked in finance and now spends much of her time volunteering in the community. She is Vice-Chair of East Coulsdon Residents' Association and Chair of Friends of Marlpit Lane Bowling Green. Gill is also involved in her Neighbourhood Watch and helps New Hillbillies with their conservation work on Farthing Down.
As a mother and grandmother Gill is passionate about making our community best for all age groups.

Croydon Lib Dems hail “shockwave” by-election triumph
Croydon's Liberal Democrats have hailed a shockwave victory in the Parliamentary constituency of Chesham & Amersham as a huge triumph.
The Party saw a 25 per cent swing in their vote share and have elected their 12th MP, Sarah Green, to Parliament with an overwhelming 8,000 majority.
Croydon's Liberal Democrats have said that the win has proved they are the only party that can challenge Boris Johnson’s Conservative Government. If the party were to replicate the result nationwide they would be on track to gain 154 parliamentary seats at the expense of the Conservatives.
Commenting on the result, Liberal Democrat campaigner for Crystal Palace & Upper Norwood Claire Bonham, said:
“This result has caused a shockwave through British politics as we know it. The Conservatives in the blue wall are not just on notice that have been shaken to their foundations with this by-election loss.
“Liberal Democrats showed in Chesham and Amersham that residents are fed up of being taken for granted by Boris Johnson's Conservative government and voted for a fairer, greener and more caring vision.
“This is a historic moment in British politics, it is an utterly devastating result for the Conservatives and a huge triumph for the Liberal Democrats, we’re delighted to welcome our new, and 12th MP, Sarah Green to Parliament.”

"We were told it was impossible for any party to beat the Tories here in Buckinghamshire. We were told this seat was too safe and the Tories too strong. This Liberal Democrat win has proved them utterly wrong.
"This amazing win will strengthen our fight to safeguard our precious natural environment and build a fairer, greener, more caring country."
