Lib Dems call for a "First Class" mail service for Croydon
Liberal Democrats in Croydon have launched a campaign to improve the postal service in the borough. Performance data shows just 70% of first-class mail was delivered on time in Croydon - well below the legal target of 93%. Royal Mail is legally obliged to deliver first-class mail within one working day. Croydon Liberal Democrats have launched a petition urging the Royal Mail to invest and improve in the service it provides to local residents.
Cllr Claire Bonham, Crystal Palace & Upper Norwood, said:
"Our local posties do a great job in Crystal Palace at Christmas time and all throughout the year but Royal Mail's bosses need to put more resources into our local service. So many residents have told me about mail that has been delayed or simply never turned up, as well as missed appointments and hospital letters which arrive too late.
"I have written to the Royal Mail and urged them to improve our service in Croydon. Please sign and share my petition to help get a better service for our community".
