Gill Hickson was born in Croydon and has lived in Coulsdon for over 30 years.
Gill worked in finance and now spends much of her time volunteering in the community. She is Vice-Chair of East Coulsdon Residents' Association and Chair of Friends of Marlpit Lane Bowling Green. As a mother and grandmother Gill is passionate about making our community best for all age groups.
We need safer ways for school children and shoppers to cross at places along Coulsdon Road.
Traffic goes far too fast past three schools, shops and old people's facilities here.
Local people throughout Old Coulsdon have complained about traffic speeds all along Coulsdon Road past two sets of shops and schools. Lib Dems have been told it is 'an accident waiting to happen'.
Lib Dem campaigners Gill Hickson and John Jefkins have positioned signs along the road impressing upon drivers the need to slow down and started a petition to consider options such as making each of the crossings into raised speed humps.
