Please join us for an hour's walk of just over 5km (3.2 miles) – through leafy traffic free lanes, woods, gardens & Shirley Hills parkland. From Coombe Lodge Gardens, via Ballards Farm Rd, Littleheath & Bramley Bank woods to Heathfield Gardens & back via Shirley Hills paths (to our start-point & nearby Beefeater restaurant for drinks or lunch).
The walk follows sections of two national footpaths (Vanguard Way and London Loop), so it’s a great way to count about 8,000 steps. You don’t need stout shoes, but do wear something to cope with earthy paths through the woods.
How to get there
Come by car to park at either Coombe Lodge restaurant or at the paved end of Conduit Lane (by Coombe Lodge Gardens)
or arrive by Tram to nearby Lloyd Park (5 minutes walk away)
or walk the Vanguard Way from Central Croydon (using Fairfield Path to Lloyd Park)
Whichever way you come, we can meet people at 11:00 by Lloyd Park café and then walk up Coombe Rd to meet others at 11:15 at Conduit Lane by Coombe Lodge Gardens. After we finish, most of us will visit the Coombe Lodge Beefeater for some lunch and a drink.
You can RSVP below (we request a suggested £5 donation for future campaign funds), and please let John know if you are meeting us at 11:00 (Lloyd Park tram stop) or at 11:15 in Conduit Lane by Coombe Lodge Gardens.
