Claire Bonham

Parliamentary Candidate for Croydon North

I have lived in Crystal Palace since 2013 and am proud to call this area of London my home.  I have over 15 years’ experience working in the voluntary sector, championing the causes of children, the elderly and victims of crime, homelessness and poverty, around the world.  I am currently the strategic lead for volunteering for The Salvation Army across the UK and Ireland.

In my spare time I volunteer to support victims of human trafficking and sing with a London-based choir.  I enjoy baking and following most sport and love walking in this amazing city, having recently completed the Capital Ring Walk around London.

In 2018 I stood as the Lib Dem local council candidate in Crystal Palace and Upper Norwood, beating the Tories into third place.

I am passionate about empowering and enabling communities to solve their own issues and believe in the power of volunteering to effect local change.  Labour have taken this area for granted for too long.  If elected, I will be a voice for the residents of Croydon North - I will work hard, collaboratively and with imagination to ensure that decisions are taken with real local input, delivering real local improvement in our services and environment.
